Dignity.Us Launches National “Dignity Voter” Campaign, Calling on Americans to Change How We Treat Each Other in Politics
New campaign focuses on an urgent new issue: how we treat each other when we disagree.
SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 — As political division and contempt continue to strain communities across the country, Dignity.Us today launched the Dignity Voter campaign, a national effort inviting Americans to help change the way we treat one another when we disagree.
The campaign is built around a core idea: it’s not our disagreements that cause our division; it’s treating each other with contempt when we disagree. If, instead, we can treat each other with dignity when we disagree, we can have the kinds of conversations that can solve our problems.
Rather than asking Americans to change their political beliefs, the Dignity Voter campaign asks them to change the way they engage across those differences and to expect the same from the people seeking their votes.

What Is a Dignity Voter?
A Dignity Voter believes that every person has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity—including those with whom they disagree.
The campaign invites Americans to take three simple actions:
Start with yourself. Commit to treating others with dignity, even when you disagree.
Ask political candidates to join you. Challenge them to lead by example and treat all voters and candidates with dignity.
Invite others to become dignity voters too. Share the Dignity Voter card with a friend, neighbor, colleague, or family member and invite them to become a Dignity Voter, too.

The campaign will distribute Dignity Voter cards across the country, giving people a tangible way to make the commitment and share the invitation with others. Political division affects families, workplaces, classrooms, faith communities, and neighborhoods.
